5 Best Money Saving Tips For Working Mom’s

Working moms are challenged constantly on balancing careers and family, which means they have to perform dual duties. Not only this but working moms are also the budget planners and household managers. So the serious task of money saving too falls on their shoulders. Money saving can sound difficult; however you can swim through the tumultuous task if you follow simple things.

Here are some ways in which you can save money while you are busy working.

1.Save money on lunch-, bring lunch from home to save money. There are always many diners and restaurants around workplaces but if you eat every day out then you will end up spending a lot of hard earned money on lunch itself. However, it does not mean that you must miss eating with your friends. Ask your colleagues to join you in brown bagging lunch. If they too agree on saving money over lunch, they will join you and all of you will be having great time sharing lunch and saving money.

2.Enjoy free coffee at the pantry than buying at expensive coffee shops– coffee might not be very costly, but when you spend money every day on little things, it will add up to a huge amount by the end of the month. Most of the companies have a pantry that offers free coffee, take advantage of it and drink free coffee everyday instead of buying a premium cup of coffee from expensive coffee shops. If your company does not have a pantry then you can buy coffee grinds and milk from a grocery store and carry your own cup of coffee to work.

3. Cut back on the unnecessary expenditure- you can save a lot of money by cutting back on the unnecessary expenditure. Do not visit your nearby bazaars or malls unless you need to really buy a thing or else you will buy on an impulse a bag or a dress. Working moms usually have free time during lunch breaks or afternoon breaks, which they might spend making trips to the nearest mall and end up buying things. It is important that you prioritize your needs, spend accordingly, and not buy on an impulse. Other non-essential expenditures include frequent trips to movies, eating out every week, spa treatments etc. of course it feels nice to treat yourselves but you spend a fortune doing these things. So find an alternative for them and save money.

4. Set aside some money everyday- make it a habit to set aside some money everyday depending on your salary. Put them in a piggy bank. By the end of the month or a year, you will have saved a significant amount of money, which you can use to pay bills, or for Christmas shopping. When you save money every day you will not have to wait for any special bonuses for spending during festive season.

5. Cut your land phone- you can save a lot of money on your phone bills. Mobile phones are very convenient to use and they cost you much lesser when compared to land phones. So when you have a cell phone cut on land phones and it will save you a minimum of $35 every month. You can use your mobile phone or VoIP services for making free calls.
