PDF DOWNLOAD: HowToHaveDailyDevotion

For years I have had devotional time but it lacked a proper structure and consistency. Devotions are intentional times set aside to focus on God in prayer and Bible reading. A few weeks ago I was introduced to an amazing way of having an effective daily devotional. The goal of devotions is to grow your spiritual life.

This method is broken down into 3 simple steps:

  1. 5 minutes to READ the bible. If you are like me, the first time I did it, I was trying to read as much as possible in the span of 5 minutes. Slow down your reading, the goal here is to encounter Jesus as you read the Bible.
  2. 5 minutes to WRITE any revelation you have received from reading the verses.
  3. 5 minutes to PRAY according to the verses you have been reading. Remember his word will not return to him void and his answers to us are yes and amen. The WORD is embedded with solutions to your pressing problems. So be alert and mindful during this time.

For most of you who are mature in having daily devotions, increase the time as much as you want. The point is to have a daily devotion structure and consistency.

PLAN OF ACTION:

  1. Get a Bible
  2. Get a Bible reading plan (www.biblegateway.com)
  3. Get a pen & notebook
  4. Pick a place & a time to start your devotional plan today

I would like to hear from you on how this plan has or will benefit you.
